September 2012 : point S reinforces its presence in North America.
point S is very pleased to announce that it has joined forces with Pneus Unimax, a well-known and renowned entity which is one of the largest Canadian independent network with presence in Quebec, the Atlantic Provinces and Ontario.
Unimax is owned by 77 independent tire dealers who manage 133 points of sales under the Unipneu banner. Founded in 1979 in the Quebec Province, the group became a leading player, with an annual sales of two million tires, thanks to a consistent multi-brand approach. A strong logistics organization is supported by four warehouses across Canada.
This alliance with Pneus Unimax means that point S is now present in 27 countries worldwide with 2500 points of sale and combined annual purchases of 15 million tyres.

June 2012 : point S finalizes its implementation in Scandinavia :
The point S network completed its establishment in Scandinavia by entering the Swedish market with the support of the Däckarna network of independent tyre dealers. The latter, founded in the 1970s’ as the first network of independents in Sweden, counts 40 multi product points-of-sale today. With Finland joining the network in 2009, Norway in the beginning of the year and historically Denmark (2001), point S has now become a leading player in the Scandinavian market with 160 outlets in these 4 countries.
Today the point S network is established in 26 countries (24 in Europe and 2 outside) with over 2,400 points-of-sale and thus has strongly reinforced its position as a market leader in the tyre industry.

May 2012 : point S is pursuing its international development abroad Europe by introducing its launch in South Africa :
the point S network announces its entry into the African continent through a partnership signed with the South African independent purchasing group, Unity Tyre Trading Pty (UTT).
UTT, founded in 2009, gathers 11 members with 18 outlets mainly situated in Gauteng (Johannesburg) and Mpumalanga (north-east) provinces. All members have a strong and long-term experience in the tyre business. The plan is to grow quickly the current association to a network of 30 outlets spread in the main economic regions of the country. With its network management know-how, its multi-brand policy and strongly experienced local representatives point S expects to become one of the strongest players on the South African market.

May 2012 : point S reinforces its presence in Central Europe :
Span has been implemented in the Slovenian market since more than 30 years with a main location close to Ljubljana. Span is a major Slovenian player in the automotive market with in addition of car dealerships a strong tyre business in both retail and wholesale. With more than 200 customers across the country, Span will develop a point S network with a critical mass target of 20 point S outlets at term.
With these 2 new markets implementations point S is covering 25 countries, representing over 2400 outlets worldwide, confirming its international leading position among the tyre dealers networks.

January 2012 : point S enters the Baltics
Estonia is the first country in the Baltics to join the point S organization. The network will be represented in this country by Rehvid24, which created Punkt S Eesti a specially dedicated company for this project. Rehvid24, a Tallinn-based company, is a major player on the Estonian tyre market having retail, wholesale and fleet operations.

December 2011 : point S announces its entry into another market in Scandinavia - Norway
point S will be represented in this country by the independent dealer network "Fagdekk", which is made up of 43 service centres throughout Norway.
point S first entered Scandinavia two years ago with the signing of Finnish dealer network Full Fit Team, who today operates 25 service centres.

November 2011 - point S expands into America
point S makes a big step forward in its International development with the announcement that it has entered the American market. The official announcement was made on November 1st on the SEMA Show, where point S was exhibiting for the first time.
The Independent Tire Dealers Group, LLC (ITDG), implemented nationwide in the United States, joins the point S international network through a Master Franchise Agreement. ITDG is one of the largest buying groups operating in the United States today. The company was established in 1994 as a localized purchasing group in California and quickly expanded into other American states. The group has more than doubled its size in the past eight years and currently has over 350 member locations and conducts business in 27 states. ITDG membership consists of over 120 independent entrepreneurs collectively approaching an estimated $900 million in annualized sales.
point S and ITDG have a similar business model and culture which will allow the partners to make the most of synergies in various areas such as the usage of the point S retail concepts, development of proprietary lines, joint sourcing or sharing of "Best Practices".
Michael Cox, President & CEO of ITDG, stated, "We are excited about joining forces with the point S organization. Over the past several years the relationship between ITDG and point S has evolved to where we realized the need to take advantage of the synergies between the two companies". Cox added, "point S management and their partnering countries realize the importance of the independent tyre dealer...and the ability for them to maintain that independency. October 2011 - point S Poland received Good Brand 2011
point S Poland has been awarded with the GOOD BRAND 2011 Certificate in the automotive services category.
The "GOOD BRAND 2011 – Quality, Trust, Renown" program awards the best, the most dynamic and renown brands on the Polish market.
The conducted survey aimed at defining the value and the awareness of the brand in its sector. Additionally the survey analized the trustfulness and the strenght of the brand among the final consumers. The survey was conducted by the Institute of Philisophy and Sociology of the Polish Academy of Sciences for the famous Polish business newspepper "Dziennink Gazety Prawnej".

November 2011 - point S at the SEMA SHOW!
For the first time point S will attend the SEMA Show in Las Vegas (November 1st – 4th, stand 44295) at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

In addition, the SEMA Show provides attendees with educational seminars, product demonstrations, special events, networking opportunities and more."

September 2011 - point S in Turkey!
point S continues to pursue its international development program with the announcement that it has entered the Turkish market. The Master Franchise agreement between point S and Senturkler Holding was signed in June. The first flagship store was officially opened on September, 21st in presence of Senturkler and point S representatives as well as numerous local politicians, journalists and manufacturers.
The Senturkler Company, based in Bursa, owns nine car dealerships – including Ford, Kia, Hyundai and Citroen – in Bursa and has been a nationwide distributor of tyres for years. Since the 1950s the company has also developed various activities including textile business, real estate, travel and rent-a-car agencies, and CNC machines distribution. Senturkler has over 1,000 employees on the payroll and its turnover has reached nearly 200 million euros in 2010.
This first step on the borders of the European continent announces further point S developments on a larger scale.

June 2010 - point S launch in the UK and in the Netherlands
point S, the leading European independent tyre dealer network continues its geographical expansion. Just as Bulgaria and Finland did in 2009, the UK and the Netherlands are joining the network.
In the UK, it is the UK Tyre Group -an association of independent dealers- with its 13 members and 54 points-of-sale spread out across the country that will represent the point S network. The growth plan is forecasting a significant increase in the number of centres, which are to reach around one hundred in the course of 2011.
In Holland, it is through a specially dedicated and new company that point S is planning to recruit its first 25 members in the coming months among no-brand independent tyre dealers, and to account for a hundred-centre network in the future.
As of now, the point S network is made up of 20 countries in Europe and its ambition is to reach the critical number of 2,000 points-of-sale very soon.

September 2009 - Finland is the 18th point S country
Full Fit Team Oy joins the European point S network. point S is now represented in Finland by Full Fit Team Oy which is an independent tyre dealer network, established in 1999 involved in both passenger car and industrial tyre business. This network has a representation of 20 outlets across all the country which are owned and managed by 10 members having a strong tyre experience and expertise.

2009 - point S Germany Awarded!
point S Germany received the Flotten Award 2009 for offering the best tyre service in Germany.
point S Germany has been awarded by the German magazine "Autoflotte" which questioned 4,700 of its readers working in fleet business. The readers chose point S Germany for its complete service offer and for its technical know-how. point S Germany has been elected as "the best tyre service provider in Germany" for the 6th time! High quality service and a national network are the main value appreciated by the German fleets.

January 2009 - point S now in Bulgaria
Starting January 2009 point S is launched in a 17th country: Bulgaria and herewith reinforces its presence in Central Europe.

2008 - Launch of point S in Portugal
Portugal is the 16th country to join the European point S network.
Fabien Bouquet, the International Operations Director of point S Development, officially introduced the network of independent tyre dealers in Lisbon to the Portuguese press.
The future Portuguese point S network can rely on the solid 37- year experience of the trademark and on a European network composed of over 1,500 points-of-sale.
Mr Humberto Meneses will manage the local network, which will include 20 members by the end of the year 2008.

2007 - point S Poland received the Golden Client Prize in the automotive centre network category.
This prize was awarded following a survey conducted by Przeglad Gospodarczy review (i.e. Economic Review).
Several phone surveys were conducted between January and June in collaboration with the Gallup Institute. These phone interviews helped to reveal the most popular products and services available on the Polish market.
The customers participating in the survey selected the automotive centers that they considered to be the best ones on the market, as well as the ones they would most often use and recommend to others.

2007 - New opening in Switzerland
point S is continuing its international expansion and opening its first pilot point-of-sales in Switzerland, the 15th country where the trademark is to be established. This 1st point S opening on the Swiss market, in the city of Collombey, will be followed by additional set up locations in the coming months.
